Today, the word salon describes many different formats. Esprio focuses on small gatherings, thoughtful content and the host’s role. A salon may be held in a flat, historic house, museum or dedicated venue. Architecture supports the atmosphere but does not create it on its own.
A place for connection
A grand piano and candles alone do not make a salon. Its character comes from conversation, a thoughtful programme, shared interests and a host who connects guests. A performer may become a conversation partner, and a listener a participant in the discussion.
A living tradition for today
We believe in continuing the tradition, rather than literally recreating the past. A contemporary salon needs no invented titles or artificial barriers. It needs clear rules, respect for personal boundaries, good music or a subject worth sharing.
Choosing your first evening
Look at who is hosting and what the programme includes. Check the format: a concert, conversation, reading or art introduction. Ask about duration, price and invitations. Private venues may share the exact address after confirmation.
Leave a little time after the programme. Sometimes that is when the evening becomes your own.
